I like the movie Center Stage. It takes place at the Ballet Academy in New York, and is therefore filled with beautiful dance scenes.
When the main character Jody Sawyer gets admitted to the Academy, her wild ballet journey begins. After a while, they figure out that she isn’t as talented as hoped, and it turns Jody’s world upside down. She has to travel within herself to figure out what she wants.
The film illustrates very well the pain we experience, when we buy into other people’s reality, and no longer listen to ourselves.
I got in touch with new depths of myself as I watched the movie. It brought me back to some of the pain points, I felt through my teenage years.
Especially the end brings deep healing and redemption. One of the big messages in the movie is, that we have to feel ourselves and fall in love with the natural talents we have.
I love that deep healing and learning can happen in an uplifting way!
